Welcome to The Inspired Bee! 

The Inspired Bee is an online resource for parents who want to enrich their child's learning. Here, you can find positive advice, tips, and product recommendations to help you balance the everyday demands of life and support your child's learning journey.

What’s in a name?

Bees are the ultimate sharers in nature. In addition to their roles as pollinators, they are excellent communicators.  Whatever information they learn on a journey is shared with the rest of the colony upon returning to the hive.  It is this behavior of bees that inspires me and helped to shape my philosophy for this site; knowledge and information shared by one benefits all.

A note from Kia:

I am not a teacher.  I am just a mom who is passionate about education and inspired by the different ways in which people learn.  I have a degree in behavioral science and enjoy planning, researching, and developing and implementing processes.  I found a way to leverage my skills and interests when I started creating a supplemental learning environment for my child at home.  Like you, I am a busy parent balancing work and other life demands.  Supplemental learning means using additional training resources to improve or strengthen academic skills and to build confidence.  In addition to reinforcing existing skills, it can also be used to introduce new skills and concepts so that your child has a baseline familiarity with subjects before they are introduced in school. Supplemental learning provides extra practice, builds great study habits, helps to identify your child’s strengths, supports the specific needs of your learner, and can be flexed to adapt to the changing needs of your child. Whatever your reasons are for choosing to supplement your child’s learning at home,  I hope the information on my site aids you in your efforts.  I am honored you are here!
